Pat and Vickie Herring and their 1999 Peterbilt just received their third Million Mile Club award from Caterpillar. Their Peterbilt 379 Sleeper purchased new in 1999 has had two overhauls and has seen a lot of country in those 3 million miles. The truck spec’ed with a C15 Cat engine with 550hp, an 18 speed transmission and a 3.36 rear axle ratio is still running today hauling cattle in a 5 state area. Before hauling cattle, their new truck was hauling freight to the West Coast and back to Texas. The speedometer on the Peterbilt currently has 3,881,540 miles. Pat says he is looking for their 4 million mile certificate from Cat.
Pat and Vickie met at a Truck Stop in the mid 70’s. They were both driving for the same company. They fell in love got married and have been driving together ever since.
The Million Miler Club was developed by Cat to acknowledge owners and drivers who have logged 1,000,000 miles or more on your Cat powered truck. Upon membership, Caterpillar awards a custom designed Million Miler jacket, hat and program certificate. Kevin Lilley, Service Manager at the Waco Truck Shop, awarded Pat and Vickie their 3,000,000 certificate.
